Given that Linkup itself is fundamentally based on integrity, accountability and keeping commitments to each other, it only makes sense to extend the keeping of commitments to areas more meaningful than simply whether you show up at an event if you said you would.

The initial incarnation of the software you are about to test drive involves a self-interview process designed to clarify a meaningful goal, in all its aspects. Some of the questions will be quite striking in their seriousness. Please take that as a compliment. It means I take you and your effort seriously.

Eventually, the system will encompass all of the following:

• The ability to list multiple goals, relate the goals to each other, edit any of the goals, and print out any of the goals in various formats
  
  
• A system of scheduled reminders sent out by email, SMS or incorporated into your use of the Linkup site, to help you stay on track
  
  
• A goal progress reporting system, accessed either over the web, wireless device, or phone, to help keep you on track through your reporting on your progress
  
  
• A progress display system with different types of display: raw data, graphs & charts, entries for different time periods, difference between goal set and goal met, and more
  
  
• The ability to search goals to find others with goals related to yours
  
  
• A buddy system/peer coaching system
  
  
• Complete integration with the Linkup event system, making it easy for people to schedule events to meet in person for discussion and mutual support
  
  
• Integration into the Linkup messaging system so that you can correspond with others about your goals
  
  
• Groups based on related goals, for sharing of goals, progress, advice and companionship
  
  
• A "sharing" system with different levels of permission for different types of information:
  • Share your goals with: a person, a group, any Linkup member
  • Share your success rate with: a person, a group, any Linkup member
  
  
• Sub-goals of larger goals, and percentage each sub-goal contributes to the larger goal
  
  
• Goal tracking for small businesses, either for the business as a whole, groups within the business, or individuals
